We welcome (and encourage!) submissions from anyone who may be reading this right now. Whether you’re a writing professional with a long list of published works or an amateur just picking up the proverbial pen, we want to hear what you have to say through the art of the short story. The only requirement is that we find the story engaging.

We will read every submission and you will receive one of three responses:

1. Acceptance: Your piece will be featured on the next season of Nobody Reads Short Stories.
2. Deferral: We like your piece but could not fit it into the next season. We will keep it on file for future seasons unless you request otherwise.
3. Declination: We do not feel your piece is right for our show.

The wait time for a decision will vary as the tides of our working capacity ebb and flow. Rest assured you will receive a decision one way or another before the announcement of the next season’s lineup (unless you submit within 2 weeks of the announcement of the lineup, in which case your piece will be considered for the following season).

Please upload a PDF copy of your piece. Clearly state the name of the piece and your name at the beginning of the document. Only submit your own work; submissions of pieces not authored by the submitter will not be considered.

Please select only one piece to submit per season.
